Gossip Girl: Victor/Victrola

It’s about deception this week on The CW’s Gossip Girl: Nate stops covering for his dad’s drug habit; Dan’s harboring a big secret; Blaire learns that Nate still loves Serena; and it ends with one of the hottest make-out scenes I’ve seen in a while.

Spotted: Serena and Blaire chatting about sex, about Serena/Dan sex in particular. They haven’t done it yet, and Serena is wondering, “Is it possible for the guy to want to take it slow?” Um Serena, you guys have been dating, what, a week? Cool it, hussy.

OK, maybe not. Dan and Serena make out in Dan’s room, and, wow, Serena does seem to be laying it on a bit thick. If I were Dan, I’d be a little hesitant, too. They’re going at it when stalker Vanessa climbs in the window. Dan shows her the door, but then Vanessa sneaks a peek back inside. She doesn’t see much, but it’s enough to prove to me that she is crazy.

Spotted: Nate’s father punching him in the face and then being taken away by the cops. Nate’s tired of covering for his dad’s drug habit, so he takes matters into his own hands! He confronts his father and gets knocked to the sidewalk for his trouble. (“I’m sorry Dad, but you need help” – no points for originality on that one.)

Later, stalker Vanessa stops by Dan’s yet again, and we discover that Dan is a virgin! Well, no wonder he seems so terrified of sex, and no wonder whenever Serena wants to have “the talk,” he changes the subject. But fear not, stalker Vanessa is here. She tells Dan what it would be like between the two of them if he lost it to her for his first time. Ewww. She’s seriously crazy.

Spotted: Jenny and Nate talking in the hall. Blaire isn’t happy about that. She thinks Jenny likes Nate, so she tells her that Nate has asked for the family diamond for Blaire. (What? These kids are in high school!) Jenny, who is learning that knowledge is power, tells Blaire that Nate still has feelings for Serena. He confessed them to Jenny-as-Serena at the ball.

Spotted: Nate and Blaire breaking up on a street corner. She confronts him about his declaration of love to Jenny-as-Serena, and asks, “Do you love me?” He pauses a bit too long, so she takes off. She heads to Chuck’s burlesque bar where she gets drunk and hops on stage to strut her stuff. Chuck is captivated.

And finally, Dan sets up candles, flowers and soft music for his big night with Serena (oh, please), and while he is mildly stressing, she finally admits that she’s scared. She’s never had sex with someone who really cares about her before, and so they just snuggle. (What?)

Cut to: Nate comes home to find his mother in tears. His father not only has a drug problem, but he’s been busted for embezzling.

Cut to: Dan and Serena still snuggling.

Cut to: Blaire and Chuck making out in a cab. And it is HOT. Some of the hottest making-out I’ve seen on this show. Or any show.

What next? Will Blaire try and get Nate back, or will she make a go of something with Chuck? Is Chuck even capable of a relationship? Will Serena and Dan ever have sex? Will Stalker Vanessa ever catch a clue?
