Nat Geo Flies High with Upfront Presentation

National Geographic opens the Upfront season again tonight with an "out of this world" event at Skylight Studios in lower Manhattan. Guests will have the unique opportunity to experience life as an astronaut, from simulated space shuttle landings and docking with the Destiny Space Station, to views of space from different perspectives provided by Space.com. Personal astronaut training is being provided by retired astronauts Leroy Chiao and Jeffrey A. Hoffman, who will assist guests as they fly simulated space missions. Astronomer Dr. Seth Shostack and Dr. Max Bernstein, the world's leading expert on extraterrestrial chemistry, will also be on hand to chat with guests. As usual, National Geographic offers opportunities rarely available to New York ad executives, and the network is trucking in a Lunar Rover, a space capsule and several space suits specially for the event.
