Fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi has taken his short-lived Style channel talk show and retailored it for the Web. As of February, Mizrahi’s site started evolving into a collection of daily video blogs by the designer and his staff, plus a trend blog and new episodes of the chatty WatchIsaac.
The lively “vlogs” have Mizrahi sharing a lot of “TMI” about such things as his Weight Watchers’ meetings and his stress-eating reaction to deadlines. His self-deprecation is sort of endearing and his twitchy bon mots fly by fast and furiously.
The Yesterday@475 videos and the Studio Blog are full of funny moments from the workers in Mizrahi’s design space (it does look like a fun, if frenzied, place to spend the day).
On one of his daily entries, Mizrahi urged viewers to log on regularly, just as his mother does from her local public library. “No, I swear, that's a true story,” says the designer. “She literally goes to the public library and has one of the librarians bring the Web site up for her.”
You’d think her fashionable son might pop for a pretty laptop.
